A good table, one excellent detail and a camera roll with no wasted frames.

Your travel lore
This is how you move through Korea.
You collect neighborhood moods, not caffeine counts. Seongsu is your creative-industrial reset; Hannam is the gallery-and-design pause; Yeonnam keeps the walk soft and playful; Ikseon-dong gives you hanok texture; and Haebangchon adds a hillside view. These are five separate bases, so choose one or two rather than turning Seoul into a queue-speedrun. A named café can be a cute current tip, but the neighborhood is the real card: make room for changing menus, independent shops and the people who live there. Build in a little window-shopping, a small walk between stops and a backup nearby, because each visit is better without a rushed schedule. Order fairly, respect seat limits, ask before photographing staff or guests, and move along when a space is full.
Five flexible options
Five flexible options.

Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Seongsu
Start with creative-industrial streets and a Seoul Forest-adjacent café pause; the photograph is neighborhood context, not a particular café.
Heads-up: Queues and storefronts change quickly; choose one stop and keep public paths clear.

Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Hannam
Use this art-and-design district as a slow coffee-and-gallery base; the image is historic district context, not a current storefront.
Heads-up: Independent venues, opening hours and access can change; respect residential streets.

Mapo-gu, Seoul
Yeonnam
Pair the leafy Yeonnam neighborhood with a relaxed walk and one café you genuinely want; the image is district context.
Heads-up: Weekend queues and seating limits are common; keep the rail-trail and neighborhood lanes open.

Jongno-gu, Seoul
Ikseon-dong
Choose this hanok-alley base when you want texture, dessert and a gentle photo walk; the image is alley context, not a café listing.
Heads-up: The lanes are narrow and venues turn over; move quietly and respect residents.

Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Haebangchon
Take the hillside neighborhood slowly for a creative, international-feeling café-and-walk base; the image is alley context, not a café storefront.
Heads-up: Slopes and stairs can affect access; check current venue hours and keep noise low near homes.
